With a façade package due in one month, CASE was brought in to assist Development Design Group in the definition, rationalization and quantification of the complete doubly-curved curtain-wall enclosure for the new Fenerbahçe Ülker Arena. Using 2D documents supplied by the design team, CASE developed custom scripts to create a full 3D model of the curtain-wall system and all supporting structure in order to identify potential efficiency gains in fabrication and quantification through a careful study of the enclosure geometry. This modeling and rationalization process reduced the number of unique panels in the 1400 panel enclosure by more than 26% and provided detailed fabrication information that included all steel sizing, locations, and quantities, as well as enclosure panel areas, locations, and materials.
